Is it OK to do that there during resort operating hours?

I don't believe there's a rule against it, but it's enormously poor form and possibly dangerous in the opinion of many, including myself, when done on established ski runs. Being way off to the side or similar would be a lesser sin. There's plenty of touring around the pass. Why skin up something thousands of resort skiers are skiing down?

Read this sign...

and what Andy said. Unless you are heading up to ice climb and staying climbers left of chair 1, the hill at Alpental is fairly congested and the risk from downhill traffic is great.

This is what Hyak is for.

Thanks. Not everyone would have had that photo of the signage handy.
