After reading TomK’s report on Silver Fir lift from Saturday, the 7” of new powder with 28 degrees sounded great. We arrived at 9:15am and the parking lot was starting to fill. We only skied for 90 minutes, but there was not a lift line until we left at 11am. This was my first 4 seater express lift and it was great. We skied down upper Outback and had great coverage. We just skied different lower trails that had good coverage. A few pieces of brush were visible. The ski patrol was marking the edges, and a few folks found rocks off the main runs. It snowed lightly the whole time, but the trees gave good definition and took care of any fog. OK, day #3 with 4 runs, 4200vf and legs that were done!

Sorry we thrashed up so many of the first tracks lines before you got there, Zap. It was a really fun Fir day.
12/16/12 – Silver Fir. Wow, Pow, Wow!
Made second chair up and first runs down at 0850. Much fun was had both on the 3-4 inches of overnight new on the groomers and off piste whre it was nice and fluffy. Light crowd over there this morning so never more than a few minute’s wait in the lift line. The edges of Outback, Inspiration, Hog Wild, and Silver Nugget rewarded us with easy turns in boot deep lightness. Things are coming along nicely snowcoverwise, but watch out for the boo-creeks as they need another foot or two to finish filling in. TomK, Kerry, Chad, and poor Karrie who was only able to make one half-hearted run down the lift line due to dancing her toes raw last night.
