Interesting day, not a lot of what we expected after looking at the overnight telemetry. Expected marginal grooming – it was actually pretty nice, expected warmer conditions, but it cooled down as the day progressed, expected winds – and got winds, expected no one to be on the slopes and sure enough not many folks showed up today. I managed to be the only non employee to make it to the top of HC – PB was firm as expected, top was even rockier than the last time I was there. HC closed down right after I did it. REX, GV and the Gondy all seemed to be running fine today and we had them pretty much to ourselves. Valley Bowl was again some of the best packed snow on the mountain. Saw the first snow flakes at the bottom of GV around 12:30 and it was pretty much a blizzard for the rest of our time there, could already notice the new snow on our last run. Soup of the day was – Burnt Salmon Cheddar Broccoli….think only one person got it before it was pulled…so it ended up being a soupless Wednesday. I tried the Udon bowl – pretty nice but could use some more vegy stuff like up at Whistler. Had fun today (huh?), didn’t make the new CD daily limit goal, but did manage to ski enough to keep my daily average up were I like it. Parked in the front row of the free lot at 8:30am and when we left, the A lot was not close to full, smallest crowd of the season. It was snowing to below the E lot as we drove away (wet but white). Hope the temps keep cold enough and the new snow keeps coming – we need it. Sorry I forgot to ask about the Taco truck…dang I finally managed to finally notice the new paint job on REX?
