Back home visiting the folks and decided to check out the ol' stomping grounds. Beautiful sunny day and a steady stream of recreators heading up the Palmer snowfield. Even though we hiked for our turns, this gets a "non backcountry" TR status since I never once left a groomed run. Made it the top of Palmer just before the first paying customers arrived. I am really glad to have some corduroy to ski because the snow off piste looked atrocious. Still super thin coverage on the lower mountain. Good first day for me.
