So for the folks that don’t trust that my condition reports are truly unbiased – gotta say today was really really not big!!!!...It was nice in many ways, but not as warm as we hoped for, groomers better – but not perfect (at least not for long), more cold east wind than expected which slowed what sun warming could happen (check the telemetry) – some hope late morning, but not enough to really make things nice. Best places – GV Bowl, still by far the easiest smoothest carveable slope on the mountain, PB was fun – buts its getting bumper and firmer and a little more rocky in places (specially getting off the top). Tried IceFerkBerg once only – that should say enough. Heard a rumor of almost nice REX line, so I did Sunnyside and Breakover to Showtime….(as CD would say, I’ve skied worse conditions, but other folks would have been very unhappy, doable but maybe not repeatable). Nice things today, big sun, big views, no crowds, Chicken Noodle in the CB lodge (okay not really Chick Noodle, really more like Cream of Chicken with dumpling stuff – tasty, but not Chick Noodle and whats with only one small packet of oyster crackers?), company of Spouse Number 1 was very nice and really empty bucket rides – lots of room to move around…all in all a nice first Monday. There were more rocks in places to dodge – skis have taken lots of light dings, but nothing big yet. Early season, fun…whats new about that?
