Even with my usual haunt Stevens still running lifts, wanted to go somewhere different today.
Elevator gate was open, but not Nash gate. Not sure why, maybe cornices not dropped yet but pending. In any case not many people were going through the E gate, or even riding C2, most seemed to be sticking to lower mountain. Had less fog. More people than I'd have expected. Lots 1 and 2 mostly full ended up in Lot 4. But in terms of liftlines only Debbies ever had a line (<5min).
The snow from Friday made for a sticky layer that needed a beatdown by other people's tracks to unsticky. However in places where it was smooth enough, it was sorta fun to make giant arcing turns that had to factor in equal parts gravity and suction/drag.
Weather had some moments of poor viz top C2 but mostly those would dissipate in 5-10 min. Some very light mist/rain. Not much sunshine alas, but perhaps for the best as even without sun it was quite warm out.
Best run IMO was Elevator Shaft. Has a constrained nature, so what skier traffic there was helped pack down and consolidate a good fall line, and then shade from the rock alongside maybe kept the base firmer but not too firm. Gunbarrel also fun but not as well 'groomed'.
Intl had a debris fan nearly right in the middle, so the beatdown tracks formed in narrow bands on either side of that area. Otherwise, good slush bumps there.
