Three straight days of fine snow here, with a mixed bag of weather and almost no skiers.
It even snowed on Rt. 95 and in town a bit. Thursday gave us 8" fresh and fog only in the morning. Lakeside Chutes held fresh all day, and all the open glades had good coverage over the old snow and rain crust. Friday gave about 1" new with the crust still forgiving, and yesterday there was a bonus of 4-5" unforecasted snow, blown in much deeper on the Face and the alphabet chutes.
For three days all we had to do was poke in the woods to get fresh tracks. Each day started with winter and ended with corn! Their avg. snow total is 300", but they had over 380" this year and there is a huge stash of snow that should last until nearly June for any die-hard local hikers who want to earn some great bowl skiing.
