Nice 1-2" fresh greeted us this am. Clouds kept the snow fairly dry. We were able to scavenge some nice leftover powder in the afternoon on north facing slopes in the Southback. Earlier, Niagras was good but lack of local knowledge had us skiing dust on crust down the employee housing slide path down to the trail back to base. Also long traverse north from top of GV chair got us to some soft powder in a bowl, names baffle me.

Sorry to have missed you again Silas. My wordy report about today - Very nice day, better vis early, but never got as sunny as Thursday, couple of new inches, groomers nice early, another pretty cold day, skiing with Mrs Ferk during the morning was very nice, while Mr Ferk was staring in a video for the Crystal 50th anniversary, great skiing in PB late morning till I got lucky and it was a white out around noon – thanks Dean and Eric for getting me to go through the upper Bear Pits gate! Dropping into Elbow (?) which dropped me right into CD’s recent fav steep line in BP’s (thanks CD for not skiing it to much yesterday, it was a great line today. Today was the first time I had ever gone through the upper gate into BP’s – very nice and untracked smooth soft. Last Door off REX and OuterFerks both very nice, any smooth unskied areas that had new was nice. GV had the usual good snow and I got lucky with great vis for my last run down the bowl. Was snowing a lot harder than the telemetry shows during the Noon hour, made the last couple of hours today even nicer with a inch or so of new. Not as much sun as hoped for based on the early brightness, but enough vis and nice conditions around the trees to make it a good day. Soups – Clam Chowder and Cheddar “Broccoli”. Pay lot biggest of the week and not full as usual, seems like there might have been cars in C lot, but there were no lifts lines today at all, very light crowd. Nice way to finish the week at Crystal – heading north tomorrow for the big stuff, so someone has to provide the daily soup reports till next Thursday. Have FUN!
