Gotta say today was a marketing bonus day, no grains or rocks of salt, I was kinda expecting very marginal conditions based on overnight telemetry and the lack of a early morning phone conditions report this morning, but…I really needed to go. Pulled into the A lot early and saw the first bonus of the day! The Bucket was running. Next bonus was a fairly light early morning crowd and no wet precip falling from the sky and also pretty fair vis and lots of bombs going off everywhere. Went into hamster mode early, till I noticed that the light crowd on REX was gone – oh HC is open, fair crowd over there till Northway opened, then no crowd anywhere (don’t know about Northway – didn’t have to go out there, it probably was very nice). Did one PB run late morning, the line I did was okay, but a little heavy and packed. Spent most of the day in the Doors to Memorial, surprisingly winter like snow quality, especially in the Doors, smooth easy untracked early and nice skied out packed pow stuff later. Also hamsterd into BP’s a number of times. It was snowing mid morning which improved snow quality, almost got bright during the time when I did PB, it was actually pretty nice when I left at 2pm trying to save some energy for tomorrow. Checked in the CB lodge to see about the Chicken Noodle soup that was supposed to be there – Not! What? Dang it. Soups were Harvest Mushroom and “Broccoli” Cheddar. Lots of cars in C lot and I think some in B…A lot was pretty typical (but at least the pay lot was small). Heard a comment this morning about only 16 more days after today of winter season – dang – double dang – Monday the 16th is gonna be a sad day since the snow pack is still getting deeper and deeper. Had fun, glad I went. Noticed the GV cam was removed today, Crystal seems to have problems up there.
