No kidding, I nearly flew off that at the weekend, barely saw it coming until it was almost too late. Didn't look like the kind of place I wanted to end up down in a deep "well" hole.

just be careful of leavitts leap at very bottom which must be like 40 feet to running water. that littledeep hole is a serious trap.
i had a mofro siting as well

Thanks for letting me ride along with your crew, Silas.  Incredible day that just got better as it wore on.  Even the thoroughfares were powder runs in the late afternoon.   And Alpy graciously kept running until 10, appreciated!  -EW

Nice meeting you Eric and doing a few laps together. Skiing until 10 eh, way to get your money's worth. Impressive!

set a record for repeating, “this is the last run” 6 or 7 times Wed night. Hard to ski past the no line lift with so much fresh fallen.

I was a little bummed to find that Alpy was indeed open when I was told by The Summit Alpy would be closed Wed night. Looks like one of the last Alpy night sessions with good snow until next year from the operating schedule.

Yes, this thread rubs in the fact that I did not bring skis to work based on seeing that they would not be open at night. I guess if I'd been more psyched for pounding laps at Ski Acres I would have ended up at Alpental after all. That's what I get for letting a little work craziness cloud my judgment regarding the cost-benefit analysis here. Oh well, I'm glad that someone had fun in any case...

Hey flowing alpy,
I’ve never heard that called Leavitt’s Leap. What’s the story behind it?
Back in the giant La Nina year of 98-99,  I had the displeasure of skiing over a blind roll and into “Leavitt’s Leap.” I was able to stop myself before the water, but I think if I had gone to the bottom I would not have survived.  I was by myself and finally/miraculously extracted myself hours later (in the dark) as another storm rolled in. I stop by every year and have a look.
