The full blown no marketing involved report – no glasses half full or even half empty for those kinda folks….it was definitely a up and down mental day, raining with slush at the bottom of the blvd, snowing hard in the parking lots - got front row in the free part of the A lot at 8am, a typical huge pay lot (that was still totally empty when we left – what would you expect), plus it was windy, plus early morning wind holds up top, plus boiler plate firm under the early morning new (heard as expected that snow quality this weekend was much nicer), plus plenty cold temps with the winds and colder temps as the day progressed…but the real pluses – upper mt. open by 9:30, but for the half glass crowd not so nice conditions – everything top to bottom had a nice frozen layer under what new happened today, even the groomers I suffered were pretty hard and I had the “real” Crossfire skis today – nice sharp edges, big long boards, oh what would have the Coombas been like today? I’ll never know, dang it. Oh well! No crowds – duh! Snow was improving since it was snowing all day, vis was okay, but it got really big at 2:30 when the clouds parted and the sun popped out. Wind loaded areas had the best new, but it was not enough to cover the nasty in most places that I was willing to go? Soups today looked pretty good – Minestrone and Beef Barley! Both looked thick and hardy….we split the Teriyaki plate (hot sauce was good)….All the cars in all the lots could have fit in the A lot – except for all room saved for the no show pay folks. Managed to make a day of it, which even I thought would be difficult this morning. Many folks had fun, but it wasn’t the best (of the worst days this season) for me…what? I thought I'd already paid my dues this year, for me and everyone else that has ever skied Crystal.
