Saturday's rain had either not frozen much or had been warmed/skied when Walter and I got turning about 10 am. It became somewhat spring-like, with carveable firm turning to heavy crud, and even a bit of mush in Mill Valley. Off the piste was plowable with some crust. Even in late afternoon 7th and Lower Term. were soft. We left at 4 when it was re-firming. The slopes were almost empty all day. Nice.
BTW rode up with a patroller who said backside had been cloesd due to wind. They had considered heli-bombing but could not fly.

That's because it didn't stop raining until the wee hours of the morning on Sunday and then a thick fog set in which trapped the heat at the surface. Everything except for Brooks, Skyline, Hogsback, Daisy and Big Chief was closed down early on Saturday which combined with the weather sent most people packing. Those who remained were there for the long haul, putting in 2+ laps every hour for 24 hours for this year's Hope On the Slopes event. In the end, over $180,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society and 50+ participants completed 2 laps an hour for the duration of the entire event - not bad for a liquid powder day!
