Feb 27 to Mar 1 2012, North Cascade Heli, Mazama

We just had a great week up at North Cascade Heli.

Monday: bluebird, lots of great fresh snow. However, we did trigger a 55 cm slide on a 24 degree slope pretty early in the morning. Good reminder to keep things mellow.
Tuesday: headed home early because the clouds rolled in. We then tried skate skiing which provided to be quite the work out!
Wednesday: headed home early because the clouds rolled in
Thursday: another great day, 5" of fresh, clouds eventually shut things down but our legs were pretty much cooked by this point too

We totally lucked out on lots of dry snow. Only bummer was a bad weak layer that kept us off anything steep. By the time we left it was about 100 cm down.

I don't see one earned turn, this belongs under "lift assisted".  No pictures of the slide??  This would be helpful to the backcountry community.

Oh those turns were earned alright but of the cash variety! Sounds like a great trip!
