January 23, 2012 Summit Central was created by Zap
Blue sky, sunshine, no wind, temperatures in the upper 20's, 3" new since the lifts closed yesterday and a deserted Silver Fir quad.  Robie and I cycled everywhere we could find some untracked, even a few moguls.  It was a beautiful day to be in the mountains.  After 2 hours, I left and that ole Kentucky boy, Robie, needed to get some cardio work at Hyak. I drove by Hyak and saw about 6 skiers with a skin track up the front face.  They laid down some beautiful tracks on the front in the sun. While heading west, I noticed the groomers were already working the slopes at Summit West. The temperature on the car themometer around noon was 33 degrees.

Oh yes skiing with Zap is always fun . I got two good skin ups at Hyak and some nice lonsome powder on the north treeline. Best of all cheese sandwich and garlic pickles in the sun. Coulda swore I was in Spain . Well a poor man's Spain
