Pleasant surprise at Alpy today. Forecast called for rain and snow starting at 10 am, with a high around 32. It was 23 and overcast at the bottom, with 3"of cold dry snow. Up top it was a little warmer, but still below freezing. 6" of heavy new snow skied liked butter. All of the moguls from Sat had been covered up, making for nice smooth runs down International. It stayed cold all morning, and started to snow heavily around noon. I left around 12:30 and the Nash gate was still closed, but Elevator was open.
