January 16, 2012 MLK at Stevens Pass

This report is obsolete already but what the heck.
I talked alecapone into spinning lifts by loaning him my older tele setup again. 16 deg. at the lot at 9am, never got much warmer. The day before would have been better, but we still had 2-6" fresh on the runs and more on the off-piste leftovers. Lots of ice and raincrust under the several inches of fresh. Scott still can't tele much, but his all his days in the BC doing that downhill-turn thing on his split board made it impossible to outdistance him.
The snow was so light we could mostly clear the car windows just by slamming the door. Snowfall increased all day, but vis. was always good.
Area schools are cancelled today without much to show on the ground. I hope if there is a snow day again tomorrow they let us know tonight so I can make ski plans....

Yeah, we found out after we were out of bed that schools were cancelled.  I went back to sleep until 11:30. 
No snow down here where I live but maybe there was in Belfair.  This time I hope they decide tonight---we rarely ski on school snow days except to tour up the driveway, but here's hoping for tomorrow!
