Bonus day. Cold, very very cold to start this morning, wore most everything I own, plus finally used my Wapiti Woolies big ear flap hat – first time and I was very happy to wear it today. Lifts started loading at 8:30 (?), with not many folks ready – lucky for us. Got some nice early runs before the expected rush around 10, but that crowd never really showed up and since it was kinda cold today a lot of folks spent their time inside the lodges, so we never had any kind of lift lines (other than passing through the FQex singles line). PB was good but vis went away as the day progressed – light smoke snow falling most of the day with some pretty hard periods late. Conditions have improved on the rock fest at the top of HC and the snow conditions across the parts we skied kept getting better (off groomers most of the day). Found some old favorite lines for the first time this season in the Doors (cant tell you which ones – those that know me can guess), plus Door 1 has been pretty consistently good recently. M-World and Pits are both getting better and better – had fun in both. Skier left in BP has improved greatly. Lucky and Grubstake trees were fun today, plus various Amigo runs low down in GV. Long day, almost shut down REX today – been a long time since that’s happened. Pay lot almost made it (sort of), neither B or C lots full. All in all a typical MLK day Monday. ddk
