Aaaa Jeeezzzzeee, maybe another almost marketing report – dang it! Went up today to provide CD with a shadow, expected far worse than even his low expectations for the day would be, wasn’t all that bad. Lifts started loading at 8:30 (?), early morning crowd seemed to be pretty late (?), expected to ride CHex to start, but the Bucket line was empty, so had a nice spacious comfortable ride to the top. Expected total white out grey conditions but there was lots of early morning sun (and pretty nice cloud breaks till the first snow storm blew in). Managed to get a couple of PB runs in before the winds really kicked up. Headed out north for the obligatory runs out there – pretty nice in places but the ride is a long slow cold ride sometimes – so back to GV and REX, HC was already shut down cause of the winds ( lots of snow tornados blowin around). REX running way to slow, so we stayed in the Valley trying to work hard and stay warm, great snow, just to short of a run to build up the heat-o-meter. Winds looked to be slowing down when we decided it was a big enough day for a Saturday in January, was dumping hard, snow quality was improving every run we did – might be really big tomorrow, or at least big enough. Wouldn’t have had any lift lines today on REX except for the winds that slowed it down, Bucket was down for a while but was loading when we left. Fair number of cars in the lots, maybe a bunch in the Pay lot (not really sure who was legal), C lot full and B lot pretty close, lots of RV’s and plenty of buses. Kinda glad we left early cuase it was dumping on 410 a long way done, with slow drivers and accidents and tow trucks everywhere (just before the Mud Mt. straights). Sorry for all the words. ddk
