Big fun day, big sun, big warmer than even I expected, big no wind day made it even warmer, pretty big lack of real crowds – REX had a few short lines during the 10am rush and in the early after lunch hour, but most of the day and every where I was the lifts were pretty mellow. Finally got a full on spring kind of day – dang it Janet – Baseball hat, baseball gloves, sunglasses – Yee Haa. The front side of REX mid day and till we left was sweet butter soft. North facing slopes were a lot better than I expected from the start – Valley bowl the best of what I did, but PB was a happy place also. M-World went off a lot earlier than I expected and just kept getting softer and deeper and better all day – I do really like soft slush. Top of HC was about as bad as I’ve seen it with rocks – still doable if your really good or willing to side step a few feet (or got a ptex gun). Had fun in slots 1 and 2 in Campbell Basin – really could have spent more time there, nice and warm and no lift lines, but being a Grassquirlhopper kinda guy (based on my friends opinions) the front of REX kept calling. Spent a lot of time from REX chair line to M-world with lots of friends and folks and Spouse #1 who was having a big fun day….Parking lots pretty full down to E, F looked empty. ddk

Definitely a double bonus day. Did the Summit house Gondy dinner last night then looked out the B-lot window to a glorious bluebird this AM. Skinned from top of 4 to Henskin with the Mrs., stayed well away from the multiweekers and city folk. SE King looked way too tasty so had to do a lap. Great stress test for the StemCelled knee. Glad to hike in Vibram soled Garmonts. Wish I would have made that move sooner. ddk is so right about 6 being a little bony. View from the top was incredible. Hood, Adams and St Helens all picture clear. Crystal is skiing remarkably well, mountain ops doing a great job with grooming and line maintenance. Saw John and Scott both incognito today, just checkin things out, standing in the singles line no less and making new friends on the chair ride up. i don't know of too many other areas with the hands on management Crystal has.

One of the most fun days this year. Spring in january. Everything started off great. We decided to give the Frontside some time, however, and headed out south to the Boxcar. Spaced out with the views and quiet for a while, then Silver Basin was excellent staying just inside the shade line. Back inside, Powder Bowl was great once walking off the top. Heard a lot of P-Tex screaming from those that thought they could ski the top 20 feet. The Frontside was in awesome form as the rain-soaked snow provided a perfect consolidated base of spring skiing, ditch digging, free-fall fun. Will be hell when it freezes, however.
