Decided to give it a go with 1" of dust on crust. Turned out to be better than ever. All north facing aspects skied very well. Groomers were super fast, dry chalky goodness. The sun came out and visibility was excellent. Lot's of old duffers mulling around. Got a big kick out of this one old timer, with new turned up tail and nose on his skis, scraping and chattering down the face of REX. Complete with over sized fanny pack. Almost thought it was DDK, but I don't think he uses the big banana skis, LOL!!

Hello hello...wasnt me (think it was Vertical George - or at least who I think he is....soory I missed you today Bandit!....
Here is my long winded view of today:
Well! I have to start out and apologize! Truly sorry I ended up doin PB more than once today – dang! A few times it was double laps, with one run out Campbell basin way. Don’t really know what I expected based on forecasts and radar and Avie telemetry – but it was dumping hard when I pulled into the A lot this morning. It continued to snow and blow for a couple of hours adding to the few inches of “dust on crust” as some would say, but it ended up big and sunny (and almost warm). I started slow, poking around the edges early, Lucky Shot smooth screamer, Valley to IceFerkberg and then into Lucky bumps and Lucky Trees – things looking up with each run. Decided to do a couple of Valley runs and my second one down Snorting Elk bowl – ouch! smooth fun and deep enough to make me head for HC, on the way I did my first try at Bearpits – very doable and very repeatable. PB and Bearpits was the run for the next few, but sun was shining and the whole front of REX was smooth as a babies behind…M-World, Sunnyside (for JD) and Breakover all nice – not totally frozen boiler plate under the new, icy but still very carveable with the big wide wimpy Coombas I was using today. Kept up a high speed pace, rackin up the hamster vert, but no one can say it was all groomer downhill runs. Best run of the day might have been my last – Door 1 off of REX skier right of the chair, smooth, untracked, soft enough from the sun, nice bumps, tight trees and no one around. Didn’t want to quit, but chores called. Ready for more tomorrow, put I’m pretty sure things will be a lot firmer – and tracked out (by me). ddk
