I'm Back!.....Another lucky day – lucky I don’t pay much attention to the forecasts (winds), lucky that not many folks showed up today (I was very late but still got into the A lot at 8:40), lucky that I survived walking the sheet ice A lot parking lot – never seen it that bad, maybe a little sand or salt or chem’s could be spread around. Jumped into a ice covered empty bucket at 8:55. Couldn’t see much on the ride up, but the winds already started kicking up early and got worse at the morning progressed. Lucky that everything kept running most of the day – though pretty slow on REX. New snow, plus wind blown snow on the lee side of the ridges, plus wind packing/smoothing on some of the other slopes made for the biggest lucky of the day. Started with testing the edges early and a few really fun lines in Bearpits and Lucky Trees. Noticed that HC was open so headed for a few PB runs with a few others – nice…but the real lucky bonus was the front side of REX – only did Breakover to M-World, but it was smooth easy turning and very repeatable. Only time I pushed my boundaries was with Mr and Mrs Ferk out SnortingElk way – very fun and good snow. I expect Northway was very nice also, but no one to make me go out there. Heard a lot of bombs going off out there early. HC closed sometime early afternoon - ?, just as the winds died down. Lots of sun today, no lift lines, surface quality of the snow was very nice and would have made lots of folks happy – but then I finally used the Coombas again today – they were very happy. It was pretty amazing how much things have improved in the last week…Yee Haa. ddk
