Thurs was pretty nice at Baker. 4" of dense powder in wind sheltered areas, pretty wind scoured in other areas on the upper mountain (Chair 6). Lower mountain was generally icy. Pretty windy, snowy, and cloudy all day. Patrol set off two medium sized slides out in the Hemispheres area, that ran nearly down to the trees above the Canyon. Very light crowds.
Fri had colder, clearer skies, and 9" of new snow, and really big crowds. Skied mostly chair 6 and Gunner's bowl. Great coverage everywhere, no signs of wind scouring. No evidence of slides today. Started blowing and snowing at noon, and tracks from the morning were filling in, mostly from wind transport.
