Kind of a bonus day, expected somewhat marginal conditions based on low to nothing new snow telemetry and very very grey skies early this morning and warm temps, but everything got better and better as the day progressed, more and more sun with big views. Bumped into some friends for the first bucket ride at 8:50, skied Lucky, GV Bowl to IceFerkberg (still not groomed…what ? expected it to be groomed for the “big” Friday crowd – the Pay lot was big Friday crowd sized), IFB was not the best early, but by 11am it was slushing up very nicely and got pretty deep by the time I quit at 2pm. Did the typical lots of PB runs – very nice still but getting a little more challenging and rocky in places. Skied a bunch with Christopher (lift opp), lots of fun, he’s pretty good for a snowboarder! – even in the bumps! (everybody be nice to me, snowboarders don’t generally like bumps). It got soft enough to poke into M-World and the gulley between there and Sunnyside. There was a inch or two (or even more out Northway) to improve conditions, but I wished I’d waxed my skis, the new snow was pretty sticky slow. Fun, Fun, Fun day. Fair crowd with folks parked in B and C lots..but still a mostly empty Pay lot. Lookin forward to Kim’s book signing tomorrow (I really like her blog posts). ddk
