December 15, 2011 Summit Central - New Snow

Robie, DaveP and I rode the first chair on Silver Fir Express this morning and there was actually 2" new on the slopes.  A real treat seeing the past couple of weeks has been cold and dry.  There was a slight inversion at Central so the new falling snow was melting on our clothes at the top of the lifts.  We cycled for 2 hours and cranked in 14 runs/14k vf and called it a day.  A very light snowfall during our brief stay keep the snow enjoyable.  The groomers were fantastic.  The grooming staff has filled in the major holes.  With the 2" of new we enjoyed the buckle deep snow. 

Good call leaving when you did. I stuck it out until noon-ish and got rained on during my last hour up there yesterday.

Silver Fir laps were excellent yesterday though... even ungroomed stuff was edgable. And the place was a ghost town!
