docs in Broomfield Friday for a touch up on the knee then up the mountains for a few days. Colorado didn't get as much natural precip as the NW did, however their snow making is exemplary. Snow guns running 24-7. Birds of Prey FIS course still closed to public, the world cuppers came and went last week. Vail and Beaver have yet to open over 50% of their terrain but still some fun cruising. Can you say wear a tight hat and go stupid fast ? Definitely lifestyles of the rich and famous, Beaver Chili and coffee 17.50 (no refills, sorry), $35 to park, $105 for a ticket. Epic Pass at $649 was a no brainier. The pass lets you track lifts, vert etc on your smartphone and if you stop for a mountain pic it somehow links it. $695.00 a day for a private lesson, somehow I think learning to turn is vastly overrated as one can't get hurt in the air. No FOG table, however a remarkable evening concert with the Dallas Brass. I can just picture the ensemble belting one out on Iceberg Ridge with crisp temps and dust on crust...all is well.

Hope the folks at Regenexx provided some extra fuel for the knee. The Epic Pass is a great deal when you consider the daily lift ticket price. A couple years ago we had a Pass and stayed at the WalMart near Beaver Creek. At that time they only allowed day parking for a couple of RV's at Vail and you had to get a permit from the Police Dept. They cater to a different market.
My friends who live in Fairplay would park at a Park & Ride lot outside Vail and avoid the parking fee and hassle.
Our relatives in Pagosa Springs have been skiing Wolf Creek Pass since Halloween but it's a long way from I-70.
NWAC says we will receive "meager precipitation" tonight.

Beaver is expensive....gotto ski there one day at the end of a road trip swing through the north half of Colorada a few years ago..seems like it was a few years ago...I really liked some things we got to ski at Beaver..I really liked the names of the runs on hill side where Birds of Prey is located, some great places to ski in that hooty tooty ski area - we payed for parking when we did it - ouch, we paid for those expensive daily lift tix's - ouch....but I always enjoy exploring a new ski area..(how about it CD????? Times a wastin ). ddk
