Crystal - 12/10

Another day, pretty similar to lots of recent days, except a little more crowded, different friends to ski with, lots of sun – but a little cooler and the slopes took a little longer to get nice and soft, a few more rocks at the top of HC, same empty world out Northway, still very nice grooming – but a few more rocks bouncing around in IceFerkBerg, more new and old friends from TAY late in the day – Joedabaker is a big boy when he is jumpin the rocks at the top of PB! And it was nice to finally meet Scotsman. Hopefully today will be the last of all these fun sunny high speed screamer hard packed/slush cup days. Even I’m ready for a change. Another high vert fun day. Pay lot was as big as it is on a January weekend and about as empty as a weekday in April, cars in B and C lot, but not much in the way of lift lines today. ddk

I agree, got to see the eclipse and sunrise on the R. ripping good groom in the AM and I had a very nice packed powder run down Spook Hill, not one skier did I see North, are we getting soft, no such thing as bad snow, the groom was that good and the hill was pretty empty. Great day for my new Camera. I wish I knew how to down load a photo to this site, maybe in my next life, I'll learn about this computer thing, for now I ski!!

A great day in the sun with the buds today. I disagree with Bill, there is such a thing as bad snow and it will be what has been in the sun this week and will freeze in the upcoming weather. For today, however, it got soft enough to do some Frontside slush runs, dodging the brush and rock, digging up some of our own. The early morning high speed groomers were great before the crowd arrived, the permanent shade of Powder Bowl and Northway offered up some good styrosnow to offset the sunny slush.
