Well I planned on a real anti-nasty-marketing report for today based on some vague predictions for what the weather might be – but Dangit Janet! Everything went wrong on that deal, so here is my typical marketing report for Crystal. Pulled into the A lot late with big blue sunny conditions. Cool temps, rode CHex and REX since they started loading before the Gondy liftops woke up – got to the top at the same time as the first bucket load. Started the day with a couple of groomer runs – GV bowl (I like it) to IceFerkBerg (nicely groomed smooth today) and also Lucky S. Then checked out PB, there are rocks off the top, but the line I’ve been using was still easy to do. Since I’ve been getting a little grief about my lazy VertGeorge type of skiing I thought I should check out Northway! for the folks that like it out there….Northway bowl nice, could use a little more traffic, mid chair line below Bruce’s bowl surprisingly nice small bumps, the nasty last groomer section at the bottom was okay – but not great, better than expected…10:40 I was number 8 rider on NW lift – lift opps keeping track of all the folks out there, I had a long cool quiet ride, then I did the main line top slot skier left of the top of the lift, narrow, nice packed styro, fun – wanted to do it again, but the ride is just to long. Ended my NW visit doing chair line at the bottom – great!, no ropes to limit the space, great small packed pow bumps….So I’d suggest that anybody in the next couple of days should check out NW. Low traffic out there has kept things pretty nice. After I got all that expand my world skiing out of the way I spent the rest of the day doing Gondy, REX and HC runs. Never rode a lift with anyone other than lift opps. Did a few runs with a couple different lift opp’s - all fast and fun. Did the traverse out to Hamburger just to check it out, traverse okay, Hamburger okay but not worth a repeat. Great day. No new snow, but I still like days like these. A lot might have been full if all the cars in all the parking lots had been allowed to park in it. Lookin foward to Friday. ddk
