Not much to be thankful for at Crystal today. 3" new and sun patches were slightly encouraging. A dozen great turns into Green Valley and that was it. Anything below 6400 feet was deeply rutted frozen glop from tuesday's rain. With Iceberg ungroomed, we tried traversing the Frontside to get back down. Unskiable. Throw in the occasional slide of 12-18" frozen iceballs just for kicks. Grooming was poor or nonexistant in Green Valley as yesterday's wet snow froze into ridges and bumps. Luckyshot very icy and chattery. The grooming down lower and I imagine on Forest Queen, was better. At 10:30 the next front slammed in with flat light, snow, and huge wind. By 11:00, with the winds gusting to 80, All chance of C6 opening ended as Rex and the Gondola shut down. We bailed. It will take a significant dump tonight to change conditions for the better.

On the plus side, other than the very bottom and near Discovery, the base snowpack looks good

I had fun for the two hours we skied, some good, lots of nasty, nice and soft in upper GV bowl and kinda like a bobsled run every places lower on the mountain. then the winds picked up just in time to force me to head out and do the Turkey dinner with the parents, all good...ddk
