It's been 4 months since I've been on a lift and today was perfect. The body only lasted for 3 hours but it was 3 hours of sunshine, corn snow and some groomed slopes. I was amazed at the coverage since my last visit in January. The touring options are still vast. Although I didn't thrash my healing spine in the moguls, it was enjoyable to watch the knees pounding and slush flying. It was great to see so many old friends and a bunch of TAY'ers. Thanks for the positive comments and words of encouragement. It was a big smile day with layers of sunscreen. The high clouds started rolling in around 1-2pm and it was still pleasant for the couple getting married on the patio.

Agree with everything! - Big day, no marketing report involved. Started a little firm early up high with what looked like fog in our bucket ride at 8am, but everything burned off to big sunny conditions by the time we had our first REX ride. Snow and conditions and vis and temps and everything went really big rapidly. Skied everything from IceFergberg to Door 1 across the front of REX as the day progressed – Yee Haa – sweet free fall slush smooth or big hurkin soft bumps everywhere in between!!!!! Wooohhhhoooo! Great big fun. It was hard to quit today. Big views early, with increasing high overcast that did not really effect the skiing. Skied out to the bottom one last time today, it will be a long walk by next weekend. Today was a great way to finish off REX for the season for me and it might maybe allow me to finally move on completely to summer activities. Still lookin forward to a sunny day up in the Valley latter this summer, but next weekend looks like the Fremont fair for me and finally a missed week of skiing for the first time since opening day. I wish everyone a great safe summer (off from my reports at least). ddk

We also had an awesome day, too bad I didn't see any TAY-ers I know, though
Loved the slush and sun; great window view at the restaurant, plus the salmon sandwich + beer were delicious. My daughter also thought that they are giving free beer in front of the restaurant and for a moment I believed her :'(
We tried some bumps, jumps, and even got my older daughter a pair of skis from the rental shop sale to try next year.
Cheers

I am not as familiar as you are with Crystal. I might try this gondola thing. At this time what are the best trails to get down to the base of the gondola? I understand walking will be a requirement...however, I am trying to find the route with the most amount of snow down to the bottom. Thanks!

Stefan,
As of last weekend, the routes below Rex via Lower Skid Road, and heading out to the Queen lift and heading down Tinkerbell and then under the Quicksilver lift were both full coverage routes and the end of the snow was 50 feet from the plaza. (that bottom bit will probably be more like 100 yards by this weekend. Not sure about Deer Fly, but he Exterminator and Kellys Gap routes showed lots of dirt so definatly not.
Up top and down to REX loading, it was darn near full coverage, with like one patch of soil exposed on Iceferk's gulch, and one on Lucky Shot at the sucker drop, but that was about it.
