Mmmmm, the smell of burning flesh...

The place was quiet in the morning.
By noon we were pretty much spent from chasing the holes of visibility around the mountain all morning.
Powder bowl seemed to be pretty active, you could hear running snow off in the distance.
Missed the thunder storm.

Yikes!

Joe, we were told about lightning and thunder, too.

Discovery was running after the evac for anyone interested;
I decided to get more beer and fries (wish there were more than 1 bag of fries at the Grill...)

Just was lookin to see if there was any interesting news...yikes! So did they run the gondy bucket line and actually off load folks? Or was it just that nice slow ride to the top? Looked at the cam early moring, was almost sad I was going for a hike in the nice mellow woods - it was nice. But what happened up at Crystal?

I also talked to a little girl in pink, who told us that Lucky Shot was "experts only", and later saw her on the control room at the base

Yes - gondy was slow, and they did load the non-skiers from the restaurant to take them down, after apologizing profusely. Some of the tourists looked pretty rattled... Not impressed by the 'thunder storm' - I lived in the lightning capital of the world for 10 yrs - but still wholly endorse safety.
