Great morning skiing heavy powder (but hey it was powder) on this Memorial Day weekend!  Frontside was fun and soft until about 11.  Lots of empty chairs.  I'm still up here and wet snow is falling pretty hard.  It'll be interesting tomorrow...guessing it will be either really good or really bad.

It was a big bonus morning today, good vis, deep new mucky pow, smooth and untracked (for a short time), jumped into the gondy line extra early to make sure we got some of those early lines. First four were very nice. Skied some nice runs with Mr Ferk late morning, always fun and fast. Fat skis worked good again today. Some in and out vis as the morning progressed. Will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. Groomers were not perfect today, but got softer. Pretty good sized crowd, A lot full. Left before the big wet precip moved in. Maybe only two more REX days before the Elk arrive - heard they are on the way up. ddk

Would make me really happy if REX is still running...espeically if there be less fog and more sun!

Are the elk really a factor with lift operation's, or is that just myth? We did a Goat Chute run this weekend and rousted about a dozen elk upon exiting at lower sandflats. They are definately moving on up to higher ground. Hopefully we can all coexist.

The elk need to evolve and realise that we humans are the alpha species. They need to adapt to that and reroute their "migration" pattern to avoid REX.
I know they only have small brains but to effect our sping skiing is soo selfish of them.
Without REX... frontside slushy bump runs won't be possible if bottom melts out and we cant get to gondi.
Elk= very selfish species....nearly as bad as wolverines IMHO.
