Crystal - Cinco de Mayo was created by ddk
The last Thursday lift served report for Washington…plenty of snow (duh, but the snow pack is now starting to decrease in depth), not very many folks on the slopes – A lot ¾ full with no pay parking. Cool and grey early with some light snow fall that left a dusting on the slopes. Looked like improving conditions for the first couple of hours, some sun break sucker holes with good vis and softening snow. Lucky bumps and M-World (thanks to Mr Ferk for taking me into there) were the two runs I did today – would have done lots of other ski lines if the vis had opened up on the whole mountain. The slopes are starting to smooth out, but were still mostly lumpy. Sadly the fog/low clouds moved in and light precip started – snow pellets at the top and pretty much light rain at the base of REX on down – made for nice soft mush at the bottom, but…. Quit early at Noon so that hopefully it would break up for the rest of the folks on the slopes. Kinda sad for a Cinco de Mayo day, but it was a lot better than the last three days for me. Hopefully it will be drier and clear at least for half the day tomorrow. ddk

You need to get some touring gear Dan so you have something to do in the midweek. I don’t want to read about yard work. ;)

Boyne deserves the stink-eye from both the weather gods and the paying public, for shelving the Alpental Cinco party and replacing it with a fake, full-price one at the Mountain With No Soul. Didn't go, I'm just bitching.

I actually agree...I always enjoyed the Alpy 5th of May party, checked when I got home and Alpental is closed for the season, so sad....

No problem Joe....I will never report about yard work and I do need to get some skins for my Coombas at least, but when Crystal is closed its mountain bike season, did a ride this afternoon, very nice. I think a Helens or Adams or Muir trip or all three will be part of this summer season.
