Crystal - 05/01 May Day was created by ddk
This was the Hawaii day at the beach that we have been waiting for this spring season, big warm, blue, reasonable sized crowd to make Crystal management happy, nice fast firm groomers to start with a late arriving crowd, and plenty of slush to be found as the day progressed – almost to heavy on the front of REX with the limited number of skiers to pack out a line. PB was the big run again today, soft and smooth down the middle – did it a bunch of times, sadly Soutback closed really early today, so the big party was on the top of Queen and it was a very big party during the afternoon. We passed through one last time at 2:45 for our last PB run – still very nice and then one quick ride up REX for a last long run to the deck party at the bottom. A great way to finish HC if it really truly is the last day of operation for chair 6. Lookin forward to some nice hot sun on Thursday for Cinco de Mayo….ddk

Saw a posse of suspected TAY'ers skinning up middle of main run( Rolling Knolls) towards HC lodge.
They were moving so slow in the hot sun that by the time we had got back to the top, they  had hardly moved.
They were fun to use as slalom gates though.

Edit to add: other unusual sights of the day apart from the TAY pain train was when PNWBrit and I hiked up to the top of Grubstake there was a guy having a " #2" right on the summit. We recognized him from a trip we did at NCH Heli and he will forever be known henceforth , at least to us as the Grubstake Crapper....... shame on you!
