The family and I rolled up to the Telus ski and snowboard festival in Whistler for a couple of days. Whistler is chock-full of snow still, several feet in the trees in the village.
Note: I did not ski, but I did observe the lower mountain conditions.
Saturday the 25th = Sunny and warm. Epic spring skiing conditions. Lower mountain got very soft and slushy later in the day and the ice on the lakes mostly melted by the end of the day. I like slushy spring skiing.
Sunday the 26th = Things froze up a little over night and the mountains were shrouded by light clouds. Skiing probably was not as good today, but more snow will stick around for longer.
I'm sorry this is not more comprehensive but I thought I'd give the word. Note: Lots and lots and LOTS of trucks with snowmobiles parked in town and on the highway. I think skiers and riders skipped out on a seasons pass this year and bought sleds instead.
