Late report for the bigger legendary Saturday…bigger crowd (at least in the parking lots), but no lift lines, firmer smooth grooming early that took longer to soften – there was a fairly strong late morning east wind to slow the real melt down, which was okay since the lower elevation areas did not get as sticky as it did on Friday, off piste went big with some nice skied out lines on REX and lots of boot top mush to blow through everywhere else. Lots of very happy folks, band playing at the base during the late afternoon. Rode up the Gondy at 4:00 for an entertaining social at the top with lots of sunny big views. First time down loading the Gondy for us…fun especially when the buckets drop after passing some of the bigger towers. Had a great evening with Mr. and Mrs Ferk at the Billiken lodge, nice location, great view of the Niagara’s slide. Did the early sunrise service – great sunrise, nice color on The King and Queen, plus all the other lower peaks around, cold, some wind, bucket ride is pretty pleasant for these kinds of activities. Could see clouds blowing up the valley down on 410 and it was snowing on the mountain by 8am. It was very warm, so might have gotten wet, but the lower elevation snow was getting very soft very quickly today. A parking lot was getting full by the time we drove away at 9:30. A very enjoyable last three days at Crystal, I was definitely ready for real spring skiing. Lookin forward to Thursday. ddk
