04/18/11 - Crystal Mountain

What might have looked like a nice spring day did little to change the fact that the skiing was terrible today (Sunday).

Rock hard boilerplate ice, perfectly cementing every groomers mark, skiers turn and any other shape from days earlier. Much of the upper mountain was closed and for good reason.

I took two runs, followed by checking the weather. After reading that it was going to stay below freezing I simply left. Total waste of money.

Conversely, I'd wait until later this week before doing in touring. It was frozen hard all the way up to the top and bottom of Crystal.
