Crystal - 04/12

Last Tuesday lift served report for Washington…big filtered sunny early, cold early, cool most of the day, lots of blue skies mid day into the afternoon. Great groomers, better than yesterday off piste (for me anyway) – Valley bowl, Westface, Elksnort, PB…The King – Braindamage – finally first time out that way for me this lazy slow year? Whats with that? Still firm under the new from the last few days, but with good vis my brain seemed to work better. Long day 9 to 3 with big vert even after hiking the King. Fun mid day with the Z’s. Hit day 90 for the season…ddk

Might have been better than yesterday, but an icy, lumpy underlayment kept aggressive skiing in check.  Even with a blazing sun, only slopes below 5300 ft softened.  Some big adrenaline off the King, but couldn't really cut loose till halfway down.  The boot top new felt like it would slide off the ice althought nothing more than minor sluffs pulling at the tails of my skis.  The clear sunny day provided some great views but didn't help the snow any.

Ouch! Just made the mistake of reading the More: report – I have been trying not to do that lately…but….glad I was skiing in a different place today (at the same time)…not perfect deep soft pow, but as most of the folks I saw, I was also having a good time….the groomer folks should have been in heaven.

Ps. Where is the corn? might have to wait till May.
