Monday is an odd day to take off for skiing, since often the hill's pounded from the weekend. But Larry Schick has been spot on lately so took his prescription for some Monday powder Rx. Definitely not dry snow, but anywhere between 6-18" of new left few traces that a Saturday/Sunday crowd had been there. With light crowds, got some nice lines on runs that are usually trampled, like Parachutes. Wet snow and moderate wind AM, which stopped around 12:30 with some part clearing.

Unlike Silas' nearby BC observations I prefered the N facing snow in the resort. The two runs I took on backside were a waste of time, knee tweaking heavy chunder. Much better snow on the N facing like anything off 7th.

Excellent. It sounds like another strong late season at Stevens.

I think "knee tweaking heavy chunder" should be permanently added to our lexicon of PNW snow conditions. It really is a great description :D
