There's been a few TR's about Thursday already but I felt compelled to add my own because it was such an unexpectedly good day.

I almost didn't get out of bed due to previous days telemetry reports of dense snow and warm temps, but I had some freshly tuned skis to pick up from Greenwater skis and looking forward to carving on those I headed out the door.

Arrived at 9am to find parking in A lot with snow falling, a very good sign.  Booted up in patrol room and got into Chex line just as reports of Rex opening came over the air.  Another very good sign.  Riding Rex confirmed I had made the correct decision as the frontside was smooth and untracked.  Those equipped with rocker were flying down the hill, clearly enjoying themselves.  I did the same, making 8 or 9 laps down the frontside before they closed Rex at about 1130.

Yes, the snow was a little heavy and windloaded but it was amazingly consistent underfoot and super fun if you stuck to the steeps.  There are still some really deep pockets as well as Scotsman has alluded to.  The mountain is filled in nicely everywhere and spring skiing is going to be excellent.
