Big day, big 5th day in a row for me…oh so slow and tired….big 10:30 rush crowd up the mountain – before that pretty light lift lines/after 11:30 no more lines on REX. Cold, very windy ridge top winds – depositing nice smoothing snow on M-World and Sunnyside (and probably lots of other places). Did manage to make a PB run with okay vis, BP area was very nice today for multiple runs, plus Outer Ferks which was very nice smooth packed pow. No Gondy all day even with what looked like not that hard of winds from the telemetry – but the direction it was coming from was the problem (the folks standing in the Gondy line at 8:50 were probably not to happy when it was put on hold for the day). Some REX stop and going early, but HC and REX ran pretty good most of the day. Spouse #1 had a fun day and that’s all that counts…plus as usual I had fun in the brutal cold windy weather. The forecasts look big for the next few days…especially Monday – so please everyone stay home. Parking lots were pretty full except for the Pay/Bus lot, even a few cars in the F lot? ddk

Actually I was first in line for the gondola and was not in the least perturbed by it's failure to open as we were in a mellow mood after skiing such excellent powder all week. We took it in our stride and got up the hill and got some side-country touring.
Nice powder, more consolidated of course but we kept to the low angle stuff as investigations into the steeper stuff in a more exposed area showed some hard windpack that we decided to abort on.
Very cold...it took two of us to get my new skins apart and we were pulling as hard as we could.
