Crystal - 02/15

Big day, a big thankyou to all the pow hounds that did not show up today, a big thankyou to Crystal for getting almost everything open – which spread out what crowd was up today even more, thankyou to the underestimated snow fall forecasts, thanks to my skinny crossfires for workin very nicely, thanks to the non-stop snow fall all day, thanks to the surprisingly good vis all day in a non stop snow storm, thanks that the winds that seemed a little strong on the ridge tops did not impact the lifts, thanks to everyone that will have to go to work tomorrow, thanks to all the other folks that are to honest to burn a mental health sick day tomorrow. Thanks to the Z’s for a nice morning till we went in opposite directions….Conditions are near epic right now based on the way this season has gone. Got some real face shots in deep soft snow today….been a long time…40k of pow, cut pow, packed pow, pow pow, late groomer pow. Hint - Southback will be big tomorrow. (no marketing in this report). ddk

Wow, a great day.  ddk missed the Pow Hound carnage out in Northway, not much left when we got there.  But, they left the Fronside, Exterminator to Bear Pits for us all morning and those runs got even better as the afternoon wore on.  O-Meadows was the talk on the Gondy so we headed out.  They'd left some good thigh deep on the edges for me.  The ice is mostly gone and with some refreshing overnight, will all be good tomorrow, especially if/when Southback opens.  Missed a turn onto I-5 under Niagriss but the run down to E-Lot was worth it.  Hated to leave but need to dry out for tomorrow.  More:

Took my buddy from NH up there today and he said it was wicked decent. Cycled the mountain North to South. Deep.

I would like to thank Justin Bieber, for showing us all that if you work at something hard enough good things can happen.And the the road crew for keepin that thing plowed.and ...of coarse my great family...and god for making it snow...so much

you must have gotten there very late.....

Got there late, yes. Got off the chair a few minutes after the light changed. Most of the mountaintop crowd was already off and down the traverse. We stuck to the Front for lonely knee deep laps and then hit northway round 12:30. The carnage was done and everyone was gone. Will likely be a similar stampede out South tomorrow. Hoping for better timing and getting in front of the crowd.
