Hear ye Hear ye…the unofficial marketing/half glass full/big rock brick salt/nasty burning Witch report!….had fun today –whats new about that?…couple of new left overs inches in places around the mountain that I did…where it was smooth with the couple of new was kinda fun (Elevator Shaft #1 off REX – shoulda done it a second time – dang it - please dont go there), the Bearpits line I did (stayin out of the avie bolder areas down low), GV bowl skier way right, West Face Trees – happy for me –sorry again for the deep soft snow folks - it wastnt that kinda day)! Rest of the day was some nice foggy groomers early down Lucky and IceFerkberg. Some filtered radiation managed to soften some lower slopes – Lower E (very nice carveable bumps under the Gondy did it multiple times), Gully between M-World and Sunnyside, lower REX sunny facing slopes. All in all a good screaming clawing flying monkey kinda day (The Wizard of Oz Monkeys)…inside joke – sorry to everyone else. Thanks to the core group for a fun day. PS – I be gettin touchy about posting happy report but…. the four laps down PB on Thursday was really sweet – before the noon rain moved it – I’m ready for the fire… Sorry again I kinda like nasty bumpy icey days to make up for those easy soft pow days. ddk

Short version, today's snow sucked.  That doesn't mean some fun wasn't had.  Rattling down icy bumps and icy groomers wasn't the fun part.  Being in the mountains with some buddies, that was fun.  Early conditions were terrible.  Boilerplate ice with 2" of new, lumps frozen to the base, freezing fog on your goggles.  As the visibility improved, the lumps were skied loose from the base, and, if you avoided the blue ice mogul tops, fairly skiable in places.  Powder Bowl was the worst I've skied in years.  That said, some top-to-bottom Valley to Lower E trips were OK.  Gondola ride up, laughing with ski buds, fun.  The last 200 vert down Lower E was good enough (smooth icy bumps instead of lumpy icy bumps) to make us repeat many times.  There were very few places where an aggressive line could be skied, had to be content with sliding though large icy lumps and bumps.  Ended the day sore, not from skiing hard, but chattering the joints on the ice. I don't need deep soft powder, but a break in the stayin' the same shape no matter what icy moguls would be welcomed.  Unfortunately, we carved the mogul shape 2 weeks ago on the last soft/warm day.  Sorry,

Short version, today's snow sucked. " - CMSkier....but as pointed out by both of us...some fun was had by all - during some moments today....oh well...Any other viewpoints from today? Season is half over for most folks, so any day thats not flat out raining is a pretty good day...definitly better than dealing with my parental problems...
