Jill and I needed some long groomers to breakin her new hip.  We used a Shell 2 for 1 coupon so our two lift tickets cost 106.40c.  We spent the evening in the campervan in lot4/5 and drove early Sunday morning to Base 2 lot 7.  We made breakfast and only had a 20' walk to put on skis and then board the Excalibur gondola at Base 2.  It snowed about an inch overnight on the firm base so we rode the groomers all day. The base area was overcast, then about 1000vf in the mid mountain had a fog layer.  From Glacier base lift area and up, the sun was brilliant and the Coast mountains were visible in every direction. The crowds were manageable and the singles line made lift wait times insignificant.  The run down Blackcomb Glacier had a couple inches of windblown powder.  There was no traffic descending from Spanky's due to the firm conditions off piste. The long 5km ski out  the cat track from Blacbcomb Glacier was bearable once.

Spent Sunday evening back in Lot 4/5 and had a police officer wake us at 3am and explain that you can no longer sleep in any vehicle in any Whistler parking lots.  Apparently you can leave your vehicle overnight  for access to Garibaldi Park but you can't sleep in the vehicle.   There are plenty of other options available.  We stopped by the ticket window on Monday, the 24th, while it was raining at the base we were hoping for the forecasted 1300m FL.  Unfortunately the FL was 1800m, which is near the Roundhouse Restaurant.  The mountain became a lot shorter seeing the Peak chair was not scheduled to operate.  Decided to save a hundred bucks and drove back to the Puget Sound in the pouring rain the entire route.

Zap,
Couldn't agree more on the heinous conditions for most of the drive back today! Miles of roadworks through Vancouver didn't help much either.
We had great skiing under mostly sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday. Excellent coverage everywhere, great skiing so long as you like groomers and hard windpack off the piste. Good times though!

Really a shame you can't sleep in an RV anywhere around there, legally at least. I hear there're places to do it if you know where to look, but it seems crazy there's not some provision for them at the resort. All about the $$ I s'pose.
