Pockets of light new over frozen old. Lots of sun, but that only seemed to hit those few southern aspects(i personally forgot how low the sun still is on those slopes).
The motto of the day was avoid the older avy debris as it was frozen solid.
Decent lines off far and near of Edelweiss bowl. Snake-dance was good(closed during prior rain?), but elevator gates outward was helacious (especailly for first run when not in peak form, damn 2$ tuesdays). Thin coverage over either hard ice or worse frozen avy debris. Lots of melt outs from rock and creek.
Lower nash was nice if you avoided the two slide run-outs. There was pretty gnarly steam melt up high on it that was hard to see. Upper nash was in pretty dang good shape. The stream under the felsen creek drainage has now under cut further into the wides area that handles the Cascade traverse and lower nash.
The lower mountain was definitely in pretty bad shape, crusty, less pow, and tons of melt out. Definitely get on the groomers at the lower elev. Upper stuff was pretty decent.
Looks like it's snowing again with barely freezing temps. Might have to go see if it's improving or degrading...
