The Whistler Report: 2nd day of admiring the neuvo riche in their white euro trash Spyder and eye candy/ eye sores in drenched puffys navigate the village stroll. Have saved nearly 360USD by accepting the "live temps" and enviro can reports at face value and continuing to condo camp. Passed the time by chating at Starbucks with the few who ventured up in hopes of surpassing the 1800m freezing level, only to find upper mtn shut down, seems that riders have the advantage in whipped cream surfing with some complaining of face spray. Local authorities tell me that with 18-24 of new the mtns will ski great, too bad they can't tell me when. Glad this isn't my "ski trip of the year" Nothing to see here folks, time to move along. I am beginning to think Henson is on to something with his rockies trips.

It's only $20 to x-c ski at Callahan valley...nice trails out there. If you're going to ski in the rain, may as well do it on the cheap. :D

Well, yesterday at Brighton it was 31 at the base with a few new inches and snowing which made for nice skiing for a couple of hours until the temp rose to 38.

Things are not looking good in SLC until Tuesday night when temps are expected to plummet and then single digits and a little snow on Wednesday.

4-5hr drive.
Jackson is where it's at right now Keith, been pretty consistent on temps and snowfall.

I'll hang here in my sweet digs in SLC as I know it will get better soon. Since I get to ski for free at Brighton (10 days on Crystal Gold Pass) it's no big deal if the skiing turns out to be marginal--only 40 miles round trip.

I am heading back that way on Monday as I am returning to Big Sky for a week or so. I'll pass by Jackson and I have a free Targhee ticket so maybe I'll hit it up on the way...
