Stevens was not so hot. Freezing rain by 11. Dense slabby snow could not even keep pontoons afloat.

Didn't hit any freezing rain on the backside, but did find rain at the bottom of Chief when we came back to the frontside at about noon.  Once the easterlies stopped, the temp jumped about 20 degrees in a couple of hrs.    Here is some video of the "deep but may not so fluffy" that we had for the first few hours.

I must be easier to please than snoholic.

We got to Steven's by 8:30 after a pretty rough ride up due to bad wiper blades and no wiper fluid coupled with freezing rain until Skykomish.

Steven's had at least a foot of fresh, heavy powder over what seemed like a bomber ice crust.  We (two boarders and a skier on Pontoons) were in line as Big Chief opened and we made a bee line for the back side.  There's no question that the snow was heavy and required some attentive riding to keep from bogging down but it was still pretty fun in my opinion.  Crowds were non-existent and we lapped Southern Cross and Jupiter all morning long.  There were plenty of fresh lines to be had.  We made a quick trip over to 7th Heaven around noon and then returned to the back side until we quit for the day.

While it was darn near 32 degrees most of the day we didn't encounter any freezing rain.  All in all, not a bad day in my opinion.  Sadly, if the forecasts are correct the rest of the week is going to suck.
