Crystal - 12/29

Well to all the late reports about how good Tuesday was (and I agree it was good), but those folks heading out south today got even bigger and better (cant wait to hear some reports)….It was colder today but not to bad with extra layers, the advertised 8” was more like knee deep smoke all over the parts of the mountain that I did. Throne rope line (oh I should have gone down to the lake!), Chutes 1 and 2 in Campbell Basin, Center line Powder Bowl (great twice), deep snow in Bearpits, OuterFerks, Lucky Trees, great deep lines across the front of REX. No lift lines today, even though the B lot looked full when we left. Thought about N world once (Northway), but the chair was broke when I had that thought, never checked back to see if it was running. Should be really big both North and South tomorrow, with cold smoke snow. Looked like the Gondy splice got completed today, thought they were getting ready to restring the line when I last saw the work. ddk

Ahhhh.....back to some sense of normal skiing.

It was deep, if you hit the N facing aspects and the wind protected stuff was deep as well. Glenn K and I ripped the GV hitting all the goods before we met up with the Son and his friends. we groomed Snorting Elk faster than a machine could. Moved over to the 6 side and hit A Basin line and then into A Basin proper. Great day with great skiers and friends, The Shinn man can stand on the sticks and my son was stopping his new Darksides very well. Great Snow with great friends.

With wind scouring the N. Side of the King, I did two laps of the South East side and was greeted with Knee deep blower on top of the wet supportive layer, it skied very well and plenty of tracks left at 3 today.
