Crystal chair Cluster @#*# 12/10/10

I was skiing a line a year or two ago about 10 meters to the right of the Left Angle rope line and caught a glimpse of a closed sign about 20 meters to my right.  If I had been skiing right next to the rope line I never would have seen the sign (unless I missed one to my left somewhere further up).  There were quite a few tracks already that continued down and several that hooked left at the bottom of the rope line into the Niagaras runout.  Since Niagaras was still closed I reasoned that the sign was to keep people out from underneath it while patrol was potentially still doing control work but really, the signs in that area can be very unclear and are too easily hidden in the trees.

I also, sent a separate letter to Guest Services about the chairs, but did not hear back on that one.
I'm not one to gripe about Crystal, but I was getting fed up with the chairs constant failure to operate consistently.

That flat ass sucks! It is a bit of roulette hoping that that chair will last another year.

Heard a liftty say today that the parts for chair 6 are "supposed" to arrive on the 16th.

I am surprised. I was told that CH6 had a complete rebuild over the summer. It ran smooth as silk the first few days. 

I emailed Crystal about chair 6, here is the current status...

"We are replacing the main drive for Chair 6 right now. It might be open this weekend, but we are still waiting for the part to arrive."

Good to know so we can plan to tour instead of counting on the lifts (Chinook as well?) this weekend.
