Stevens 12/4

The lift skiing was much better than the low snow total and lack of fresh had us a-fearin'. 
7th and Mill Valley were not open, but the quality was fine.  Temps were in the low 20s all day, but we were treated to some clear skies---dark blue and blowing snow off the trees!
Lisa and I got our packs and skins during lunch at the car cafe, and got some good uncut snow on the back side, going partway down Gemini and dodging the cat track.  2 guys said the snow around Southern Cross was good, too.   Back on the piste I was glad I had older skis, 'cuz some rocks attacked them when we didn't do anything to provoke them.  A good day and the first rides up I'd had in months.

Sounds like a pretty good day! To bad i couldnt make it up. Just back back on friday so needed a few days to unpack and stuff. But its on next weekend! Good to know ill need the rock skis still though lol

Glad to hear that you and Lisa had a good day.  When I hear a rock climber say he was attacked by some rocks and didn't do anything to provoke them, I'm a wee bit suspect of that statement.
