Just got back from a quick two day trip to Whistler-Blackcomb. Really just Blackcomb as I spent both days on that mountain.

The key takeaway is that even with the 21 inches of fresh snow they had over the last 48 hours things are still pretty thin up at Blackcomb. The only lifts running right now at Blackcomb are Jersey Cream, Solar Coaster, Excelerator, the Gondola, Catskinner, and Wizard. No Glacier chair or 7th Heaven. On Whistler they are not running Peak chair, Harmony, Symphony or Garbanzo. Like I said, coverage is pretty thin. Skiing down to the base area was possible with minimal equipment damage.

Lift lines were really long due to the holiday weekend and the limited lifts in service. We endured several 15 minute long waits today.

The snow that was there was in good condition. Temps have been really cold in BC (just like down here in Washington). There were many exposed rocks and creeks all over the mountain.

The best runs of the whole weekend came from a 40 minute hike up from Jersey Chair over to the 7th Heaven area. If you know where the non-rocky areas are on 7th Heaven there are still tons of fresh lines. If you don't know your way around that area get out your P-tex candles.

Here are four video clips all taken on the 7th Heaven area today.
